This is Where I Stand
I will be and advocate for our natural resources. I believe we must restore Minnesota's position as the nation's leader in education. It's about time everyone had affordable healthcare. Our infrastructure needs attention now more than ever. I'll make sure that happens. And, with experienced leadership, we'll continue attracting good living wage jobs to our region.
These are my shoes
There are shoes I wear to City Council meetings, where I'm serving as President for the second time in three years. That says a lot about my ability to work with others to get the job done. But these aren't the only shoes I wear.
I love the outdoors - It's why Duluth is my home. I love to hike, bike, canoe, ski, and run. Whether I'm wearing my hiking boots on Spirit Mountain or my running shoes on the Piedmont Ski Trail I value Duluth's natural beauty.
My grandfather was a Navy vet who saw combat in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. I'm proud to be the fourth generation of my family serving our country while wearing Navy shoes. Family and faith are also important to me - I'm the oldest of seven children and a regular attendee at Asbury Methodist. When Spending time with family, attending church, or in my classroom you'll find me in my "teacher shoes."
